Manav Rachna Dental College: Providing Quality Dental Education

Manav Rachna Dental College was established in 2006 and is recognized for the BDS and MDS Degrees by the Ministry for Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India and Dental Council of India. MRDC provides more than just education--it is a centre that is envisioned to focus on quality dental education and research besides providing affordable quality dental care to people. The College is professionally managed and has been nurtured and developed with the best of technical and professional infrastructure to suit the ever-increasing needs of modern day dental health care. At present, the permissible annual intake is 100 students at the undergraduate level and 21 (3 per specialty) at the postgraduate level across seven dental specialties. Post graduate programs are offered in Periodontology, Oral Medicine and Radiology, Pedodontics, Oral Pathology, Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge, Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics and Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
The College has been accredited at Grade ‘A’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in 2015. Innovation in teaching methodology and curriculum enrichment are the highlights of the educational experience which the student can expect on entering the undergraduate or the post graduate program at Manav Rachna. An experienced and dedicated faculty with appropriate use of audio visual aids in ‘smart’ classrooms helps the student to understand and grasp the subject more easily. The departments are well equipped with the state-of-the-art infrastructure and timely updated on any new advancement in the field to keep students abreast with latest studies/researches worldwide.

At MRDC, we strongly believe that along with didactic teaching, regular practicals/ seminars are important aspect of students’ learning. Students are further motivated to undertake field visits through various camps and workshops organized by the institution. Research is a top priority at MRDC. We strive to establish an all pervasive research environment, getting students and faculty involved in research and innovation. Students are encouraged to carry out research in emerging areas and quality infrastructure and guidance is provided for the same. Each department has its own laboratories and facilities, equipped to handle high-end research. The outstanding research work and the publications of faculty and students are recognized and rewarded both nationally and internationally.
Throughout the course, dental students will have close contact with the teaching staff, and senior students, which allows learning by example and peer review. The introduction of vertical integration in teaching methods initiated by the college is aimed at widening the horizon of the student whilst promoting a close bond in the student community. These integrated seminars involve presentations on different aspects of a topic by undergraduates (first through IVth BDS, Interns, Post graduates and faculty). An in depth literature analysis form ensures quality of presentation The institution is confident that such innovative changes in the curriculum will go a long way in personality development of the student in addition to enrichment of scientific knowledge. A further innovation to the teaching methodology is ‘horizontal integration’ in undergraduate teaching wherein subject teachers across different subjects jointly discuss a topic with a BDS batch. This has the advantages of generating greater interest in the student with multiple teacher interaction, saving study hours in the syllabus which can be used for additional topics in addition to better interaction and knowledge sharing between the knowledge givers.

The faculty at MRDC has a cordial relationship with students and act as Mentor, Guide and Friend.
