MRDC Faculty: Expanding the horizon of Professional Skill Development through Experiential Learning

Manav Rachna Dental College (MRDC) is a premier institution of India imparting knowledge and skill in the field of dental healthcare. The institution was founded in the year 2006 as a dream project of the great educationist and philanthropist Dr. O.P. Bhalla. Over the years, MRDC has achieved many laurels, and in its 10^th year, was graded as an ‘A’ grade institution by the NATIONAL ASSESSMENT AND ACCREDITION COUNCIL (NAAC).

The Institution is run by a team of highly skilled professionals with Dr. Arundeep Singh at the helm as the Principal of MRDC. His core team includes Dental Advisor Maj. Gen. P.N. Awasthi VSM (Former secretary DCI); Dean PG studies Dr. Vishal Dang; Dean Academics Dr. Ashim Aggarwal; Dean Administration Dr. Pankaj Dhawan and Dean Examination Dr. Hind Pal Bhatia. This team of dynamic professionals work in accordance to the vision and mission of the institute. Under their able guidance, the faculty works jointly for the holistic development of the students in theoretical, practical and clinical skills with the aim of preparing them to become compassionate human beings who are also well trained dental professionals.

The centrepiece of the MRDC experience is working directly with scholars and renowned professionals in the field who are highly skilled and have vast experience in both clinical and research areas. The faculty includes leading specialists in every subject areas with a total of 14 Professors, 23 Readers, 14 Senior Lecturers and 45 Tutors/ Lectures. They have many national and international publications (523) and research projects to their credit. The faculty members at MRDC have been actively involved in organising national conferences and they have also been invited to deliver lectures and present papers at various national and international forums.

At MRDC, the student-teacher ratio is kept low and the Faculty is highly motivated and passionate about teaching. They adopt newer methodologies in classroom teaching and expand the horizon of professional skill development through experiential learning. They keep abreast with new knowledge and developments in the field and actively include these in the curriculum. The institute also encourages faculty participation in various Faculty Development Programs which are organised routinely in the campus. The distinguished faculty are the jewels in the crown of the institution.
